Mark Bailey set up Bailey Guitars with Carol Davies in 1998 and was founded on the principles of making high quality, hand crafted instruments as sustainably as possible using power from renewable energy sources. It remains an innovative eco-friendly guitar manufacturing company, and co-ordinates on-site and online guitar making workshops in Ayrshire, Scotland

In November 2016, Baileys launched a crowdfunding campaign to secure the future of the business. Pricoss provided support and guidance on maximising the effectiveness of their appeal. Additionally, a growth strategy was developed by Pricoss to capitalise on the campaign result and help the business realise their goals in 2017.

Glasgow-based start-up Mighty Beast is an animal-friendly music accessories company specialising in handcrafted guitar straps. Mighty Beast was already successfully selling its products worldwide.

Pricoss were invited to help take the brand to the next level. To establish Mighty Beast as a recognisable brand in the music retail market and develop a better understanding of its customer base, Pricoss developed both short and long term communication strategies for the business.

Pricoss’ networking skills introduced the two companies – Mighty Beast and Bailey Guitars – whose shared values made for a successful relationship.

 

Outcomes

Pricoss brokered a strategic partnership between Bailey Guitars and Mighty Beast allowing Baileys to widen their range of branded merchandise and providing Mighty Beast with its first major client.

STV News covered Bailey Guitars’ fundraising success with a feature including workshop visit, live music, and interviews which marked their first piece of television coverage. Pricoss facilitated these processes and will develop these press relationships for the company going forward. The campaign also featured in regional and trade press for the first time, including the Scottish Daily Record and the Ayrshire Post.

Mighty Beast

Pricoss conducted a survey looking at Mighty Beast’s customer base and products to gather essential market research and move the business forward. Based on findings, Pricoss then devised a social media strategy and provided guidance on how to improve the business’ online presence which resulted in a six-fold increase in Mighty Beast’s Etsy sale.
